Latrell Mitchell's fate hangs in the balance as the NRL star gears up to face the South Sydney board.

The Rabbitohs fullback has been handed a breach notice by the NRL, following a controversial 'white powder' photo that has caused quite a stir in the rugby league community.

Renowned NRL reporter Danny Weidler has weighed in on the situation, predicting that Mitchell is poised to cop a fine along with a one-game suspension over the incriminating photo.

The NRL wasted no time in issuing Mitchell with the breach notice, citing his actions as damaging to the integrity of the game, giving him a tight deadline of five days to make his case.

The photo in question was taken during Mitchell's recent visit to Dubbo, where he was busy imparting his wisdom at coaching clinics and engaging in community outreach.

However, the photo showing Mitchell in a compromising position with a suspicious white substance on a table surfaced online shortly after, sparking a wave of controversy.

"The particulars of the breach notice outline that Mitchell's conduct in the imagery has cast a shadow over the game's reputation," stated the NRL in a formal statement.

"Mitchell now has a limited window of five business days to present his defense against the Breach Notice."

As per the protocols set forth in the players' agreement, the NRL is withholding judgment on the potential punishment until Mitchell has had a chance to respond.

Nonetheless, whispers from insiders suggest that Mitchell is bracing himself for a one-game ban, which could potentially leave the Rabbitohs short-handed in their upcoming matches.
