Roosters Coach Critiques Team's Performance

Trent Robinson Offers Harsh Review After Loss to Storm

Sydney Roosters head coach Trent Robinson has delivered a blunt evaluation of his team's performance following their 18-4 defeat against the Melbourne Storm on Saturday night.

Robinson particularly focused on the team's failure to maintain possession, criticizing them for displaying a "lack of respect for the ball" during their match in Melbourne.

Throughout the game, the Roosters managed a disappointing 61% completion rate, contributing to a staggering 18 errors in just 80 minutes.

Despite a valiant defensive effort, the low-scoring affair highlighted how their inability to handle the ball effectively proved detrimental.

"Really poor, a real lack of respect for the harder parts of the game, lack of respect for the ball and how you should play the game," Robinson expressed during his post-match remarks.

"We got the result we deserve."

Although the Roosters fielded six players who had just participated in State of Origin games on Wednesday, Robinson refused to attribute their lackluster performance to fatigue.

"That's the last excuse," he stated regarding the players' quick turnaround.

"Players have got to back up and play... I expect them to come back and play. If they're not ready to play, then they don't. They were all ready to play and we just couldn't get team alignment there about what we wanted out of the game."
