Dragons Edge Broncos for First Win

Dragons hold off Broncos for drought-breaking win

The Dragons achieved a narrow victory over the Broncos, winning 30-26 at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, marking their first win of the season.

Young forwards once again made an impact, with Toby Couchman matching star Payne Haas in key stats, while Dylan Egan and Hamish Stewart contributed to tries.

Defensively, the Dragons were put to the test early, but Moses Suli's remarkable effort saw him push Ezra Mam out of bounds just before the try line.

A pivotal moment came when Dylan Egan executed a one-on-one steal from Patrick Carrigan, leading to a scoring opportunity for the Dragons.

Hamish Stewart, while stumbling, managed to pass to Valentine Holmes, who scored the first try, with Holmes converting shortly after to get the score to 6-0.

However, the game's intensity rose when Adam Reynolds was reported for a dangerous tackle that left Couchman in pain.
