A former Rugby League hero turned boxing champ has made a bold claim about feeling "violated" by Covid restrictions, as he faces allegations of breaking the rules.

Anthony Mundine, the legendary fighter, is accused of not scanning a QR code at a Bunnings Warehouse in Kingsgrove, Sydney, during a lockdown last year.

Despite the accusations, Mundine has pleaded not guilty to the charge of disregarding a Covid directive.

CCTV footage shown in Bankstown Local Court painted a picture of the 49-year-old striding confidently into the store without adhering to the check-in requirements.

When approached by Bunnings staff in their trademark bright yellow vests, Mundine brushed them off with a dismissive wave, showing a bit of defiance.

The video also captured him engaging in a brief chat with another worker as he exited the store, holding onto his purchases like a seasoned pro.

The retired sportsman, affectionately known as 'The Man', is no stranger to controversy or confrontation, and this latest incident has certainly put him in the spotlight once again.

Only time will tell how this latest chapter in Mundine's career will play out in the ring of public opinion.
