Kennedy Extends Stay with Sharks Again

Cronulla Sharks fullback Will Kennedy has officially extended his contract with the club, now committed through the 2027 NRL season.

This marks the second consecutive year in which the talented player has received a one-year contract extension, eliminating speculation regarding a possible transfer to the Perth Bears.

Sources indicate that Kennedy, who was once rumored to be considering a move to the English Super League, prefers to stay in Sydney for as long as possible.

While the Sharks have Liam Ison waiting in the wings, Ison's progress has been hampered by injuries, leading the club to believe that keeping Kennedy for another year as a key player is the best course of action.

Expressing his satisfaction, Kennedy commented on securing his future with the team where he began his career back in 2019.

"I'm very pleased to be staying here for another year. I started here in the SG Ball, I've come through the ranks, been lucky to play so many games and this club is a special part of me," Kennedy said.

"I had a big pre-season, my hard work and what I've put into the games has paid off, I'm happy with what the club has given me, and I want to repay them for that."

Kennedy outlined his immediate ambitions moving forward.

"I want to keep playing consistent footy and the big goal is to win a comp," he said. "I want to do that for the club and the people and players here."
