Melbourne Storm's Tui Kamikamica has received encouraging news regarding his return to the NRL after a serious medical scare in March.
The Fijian international was hospitalized due to a suspected stroke and underwent a critical procedure to remove a brain blood clot.
He is now very close to making his comeback, as reported by the Daily Telegraph, which states he has been cleared by a brain specialist to return to the field.
The 32-year-old forward has not participated in a match since the Storm faced Townsville in Round 4.
Before wearing the purple jersey again, he will still require clearance from a cardiologist, but he is certainly progressing towards a return that could help the Storm reach the top eight.
Kamikamica, along with Eliesa Katoa, has left a significant gap in the Storm's lineup, contributing to the team's struggles that included a seven-game losing streak this season.
It is reported that he aims to make a return within a month, although he will likely be gradually integrated into training as he rejoins a revitalized Storm squad.
As he approaches the end of his contract this year, several Super League clubs are showing interest in him should a deal with the Storm not materialize.
