In an announcement that's sure to have the Warriors faithful cheering, Dally M Team of the Year member, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, has committed his future to the New Zealand Warriors by putting pen to paper on a new contract.
Reports from zerotackle.com are confirming that Watene-Zelezniak is set to don the Warriors jersey for another seven seasons, with a two-year contract extension locking him in until the end of the 2027 NRL season.
Fresh off his standout performances in the last couple of seasons, the 29-year-old winger has been in scintillating form, crossing the try line an impressive 39 times in his last 42 matches over the past two years.
With a career tally of 101 tries, Watene-Zelezniak will be itching to add to that total in the seasons to come.
Rumours of a potential move to the Catalan Dragons in the Super League were swiftly put to rest with this contract extension.
The French club had also shown interest in Daniel Tupou, but it seems Watene-Zelezniak is staying put in the NRL.
Warriors coach Andrew Webster praised Watene-Zelezniak's knack for finding the try line, as well as his ability to make crucial metres when returning the ball.
