Kodi Nikorima's prospects of departing from the Dolphins appear to be increasing, particularly following comments from his brother, Jayden Nikorima, who suggested a potential move to the English Super League.
Jayden, who has played for teams such as the Sydney Roosters and Melbourne Storm, has been competing in the Northern Hemisphere since the beginning of 2024. He has represented clubs like the Catalans Dragons, Salford Red Devils, and Bradford Bulls this year.
The former Maori All Stars representative voiced his desire for Kodi to head to England, stating in an interview with Love Rugby League that the chances of this happening are now more favorable compared to earlier in the season.
"I've sent a few messages, don't you worry," Nikorima shared with the outlet.
"But he's more open to coming to Super League, which is nice. But you'll have to wait and see.
"He's paying a lot less now (coming to Super League) than he was at the start of the year, I'll give you that much."
Kodi Nikorima is entering the final stretch of his contract this season and is currently evaluating his options for the future.
The Dolphins are operating with a constrained salary cap and have also reportedly secured the signing of George Williams for the upcoming season. Although the English halfback has been officially released in England, confirmation from the Dolphins is still pending.
If Williams joins the squad, he would slot into the halves alongside Isaiya Katoa, potentially leaving Nikorima without a clear role, despite his impressive performances in 2025 and 2026.
