Jamayne Isaako recently underwent a minor surgery after dislocating his finger during the match against the Sydney Roosters in Round 15.
According to The Courier Mail, Isaako experienced an open dislocation, a more severe type of injury where the bone breaks through the skin.
This injury necessitated a visit to the hospital mainly for cleaning and stitching the wound.
However, the Dolphins are optimistic that the 28-year-old will return to play, noting that no fractures were found.
On Saturday morning, Isaako shared a positive update from his hospital bed on his Instagram story, smiling and giving a thumbs up after the operation.
This development is a relief for both Isaako and the Dolphins organization.
Last Friday, he matched the NRL record for consecutive games with points involvement, reaching 94 games and equaling Steve Gearin's long-held record. If he plays as expected next week, he will have the chance to break it.
In the match against the Roosters, Isaako scored 14 points in a decisive 48-10 victory and currently leads all players in points scored this season with a total of 164.
Since the Dolphins entered the competition in 2023, Isaako has participated in every game. Missing the upcoming Round 16 match against the Wests Tigers would end his impressive streak at 85 games.
