Young Stars Shine at North Sydney Doubleheader

State of Origin Under 19s: Young guns to take centre stage

North Sydney Oval will stage a State of Origin Under-19 double-header on Thursday, putting the competition's brightest youngsters in the spotlight.

The Under-19 women's match starts at 5.45pm, with the men's game to follow at 7.45pm.

The junior Origin fixtures have long been a stepping stone to NRL and NRLW careers, producing many elite players.

Former participants such as Ethan Strange, Rob Toia, Indie Bostock and Sienna Lofipo highlight the pathway's success.

NSW's Under-19 women aim to extend a two-match winning run, while Queensland are hunting their first win since 2023.

Roosters prospect Logan Fletcher, who impressed during last year's 26-10 Blues victory, is named to start in the centres.

In last year's men's match Javon Andrews nailed a sideline conversion to snatch a one-point win for Queensland, a result the Blues are keen to avenge.

Hayden Watson, who came off the bench for the Maroons in that game, will wear No.7 alongside Cowboys product Taj Lateo as Queensland pursue back-to-back victories.
