The South Sydney Rabbitohs have reportedly allowed Isaiah Tass and Peter Mamouzelos to enter the open market.
While Mamouzelos' departure from South Sydney has been speculated for a while, Tass's possible exit, despite being contracted until the end of 2027, is new information.
Concerns regarding Mamouzelos' defensive first contact have been significant for the coach, leading to a reduction in his standing within the team, having once been seen as Damien Cook's heir apparent.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Mamouzelos might head to the English Super League in 2027, eventually catching the attention of Willie Peters and the PNG Chiefs for the 2028 season.
Meanwhile, Tass has been given the go-ahead to explore his future options for 2027, according to News Corp.
This outside back, capable of playing both centre and wing, made his South Sydney debut in 2022 and accumulated 16 games that year, 23 in 2023, 8 in 2024, and another 23 last season, totaling 70 NRL appearances.
However, he has yet to play in the top grade this year due to an ACL injury, which has restricted him to just three NSW Cup matches.
Currently, South Sydney is in a contract freeze for all players except Tallis Duncan, who concludes his contract at the end of next year. They are working to address immediate priorities while considering what offers they will present to Latrell Mitchell before making further long-term decisions.
The report indicates that the potential early exits of Mamouzelos and Tass are aimed at freeing up space for Matt Dufty and Jamie Humphreys for the next season.
