Solomona Faataape, a former centre for the Wests Tigers, has committed to a two-year contract with Super League powerhouse St Helens, commencing in the 2027 season.
After departing from the Wests Tigers at the conclusion of 2025, Faataape made a transition to the Catalans Dragons in France for the current season, where he has swiftly made a notable impact.
The young talent has ascended rapidly through the rugby league ranks, clinching the Queensland Cup in 2023 with the Brisbane Tigers before spending two seasons with the Wests Tigers, where he made his debut.
The 25-year-old expressed his excitement about signing with St Helens.
"I am beyond excited! I've been playing this year with a few of the boys who know a lot about the Club, and they've shared with me just how rich in history Saints is, and how passionate the fans are," Faataape stated.
"I want to be successful, and St. Helens demands success. That's one of the biggest reasons why I am joining. Every game against Saints is going to be a big game; it's such a huge Club, everyone knows that, so to be joining is pretty awesome."

Initially, he had signed a two-year contract with the Dragons that was set to conclude in 2027.
However, he has negotiated a buyout of the final year in that deal, allowing him to join St Helens on a two-year contract set to end after the 2028 season.
