This week in history saw the legendary arrival of Cronulla Sharks Immortal, Andrew 'ET' Ettingshausen, making a landing in the Rugby League world like a missile through the defensive line.

Back in 1983, on March 27 at Orana Park, Campbelltown, ET burst onto the scene in a Round 5 showdown against the Newtown Jets, leaving a trail of defenders in his wake like a speeding bullet.

Starting the year in reserve grade, ET, a Year 12 student at De La Salle College, Cronulla, received the call-up to first grade from coach Terry Fearnley, stepping up to the plate like a true champion.

With a background touring with the Australian Schoolboys, ET was destined for greatness from a young age.

In his debut game, ET showcased his electrifying speed and skill, scoring a try after receiving a slick pass from Kurt Sorensen and leaving Jets fullback Ron Sigsworth in his dust as he raced to the corner like a gazelle on the African savannah.

The Sharks emerged victorious with a 26-24 win, with ET's performance earning him a spot in the starting lineup the following week against the Canberra Raiders, solidifying his reputation as a rising star in the league.
