Matt Peet has described Wigan Warriors' 18-8 triumph over Warrington Wolves in the Betfred Challenge Cup final as the crowning moment of his coaching reign.

The victory at Wembley was a sweet taste of success for Peet, who has now led his hometown club to two prestigious Challenge Cup victories.

This latest win adds to Wigan's impressive record, which includes Betfred Super League Grand Final and League Leaders' Shield triumphs last year, as well as a World Club Challenge victory earlier this year.

Holding every trophy possible, the Warriors secured their 21st Challenge Cup win on a day filled with emotion as the rugby league community paid tribute to the late Rob Burrow CBE.

"I just felt the momentum building up towards a tough game," Peet expressed after the victory.

"This one is the best one yet.

It's been an emotional week for everyone involved in rugby league, with Rob's memory weighing heavy on the hearts."

Meanwhile, Matty Smith had nothing but praise for his St Helens side as they secured their fourth consecutive Betfred Women's Challenge Cup title with another victory over Leeds Rhinos.

The Saints' dominance on the field was a testament to their determination and skill, cementing their status as one of the top teams in women's rugby league.
