Jared Waerea-Hargreaves sidelined for big hit repercussions

He may have broken a club record and enjoyed a victory, but Jared Waerea-Hargreaves now finds himself in hot water after a hefty hit in his milestone match.

The Roosters enforcer is facing a potential four-week ban for a grade 2 careless high tackle charge, dished out by the match review committee.

Fresh off becoming the most-capped player in club history, Waerea-Hargreaves could be sidelined for three weeks if he pleads guilty early, or four if he chooses to fight it and loses, all thanks to a high shot on Max Feagai that earned him a trip to the sin bin.

Despite protesting to referee Ashley Klein that it wasn't a 10-minute penalty, the prop's pleas fell on deaf ears as he was sent off in his milestone game.

"You've ventured out of line with excessive force, so it's a reportable offense and a stint in the bin," Klein informed him.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson acknowledged that his seasoned prop had crossed the line, both literally and figuratively, after leaving the field bloodied in the first half.

"He may have crossed the line at one point, but he was determined to stay strong until the very end," Robinson admitted.
