The Western Suburbs Magpies were defeated 28-14 by the Rabbitohs in a hard-fought NSW Cup clash at Campbelltown on Saturday evening.

The Bunnies wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, with Bayleigh Bentley-Hape crossing the line first.

The Magpies fought back with a try from Josh Feledy off a Brent Naden line-break, but the Rabbitohs extended their lead with a try from Izaac Thompson.

In the second half, Dean Hawkins and Tyrone Munro showed off their speed with tries for the Rabbitohs, while Latu Fainu and Solomon Alaimalo added to the Magpies' scoreline.

Tim Johannssen powered over for another Magpies try, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Rabbitohs.

Despite the loss, the Magpies never gave up and showed great fighting spirit until the final whistle.

The Rabbitohs were able to hold on to their lead and secure the victory.
