The Sea Eagles of Manly Warringah have kicked off an exciting new chapter by forming a dynamic partnership with the Castleford Tigers across the pond.
This collaboration marks another strategic move by the Sea Eagles to scout for top-notch young talent from around the globe, building on existing alliances with St Brendan's College in Yeppoon and the Mangere East Hawks in Auckland.
The ties that bind Castleford and Manly run deep, with two of Castleford's legendary stars, Malcolm Reilly and Kevin Ward, finding glory and lifting premiership trophies with the Sea Eagles.
Reilly clinched the title twice in 1972-73, while Ward's triumph came in 1987.
Through this newfound partnership, the Sea Eagles will lend their expertise to the Tigers' Academy program, nurturing and honing their budding talents with an eye towards possible future roles within the Manly squad.
The exchange won't just be one-way, as both clubs will engage in a fruitful exchange of coaching techniques and training methods, with plans in motion to pit Castleford's Academy players against Manly's own promising prospects on the Northern Beaches.
CEO Tony Mestrov couldn't contain his enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting the potential for mutual growth and success that lies on the horizon.
