The Panthers have given an update on one of their star players as coach Ivan Cleary expressed frustration over what he sees as inconsistent standards in the league.

Panthers prop James Fisher-Harris will be sidelined for this weekend's game against the Knights due to a groin injury, but scans have revealed that he will be back on the field within a month, much to the relief of fans and teammates.

The Kiwi forward, also known as the Golden Boot winner, was forced to leave the game early after a tackle gone wrong against the Dragons on Sunday.

Despite his absence, Fisher-Harris continued to show his support from the sidelines, showcasing his unwavering commitment to the team.

Considered the top front-rower in the world, Fisher-Harris's absence will be sorely felt by the Panthers, who are aiming for a fourth consecutive premiership.

With his impending move to the Warriors at the end of the season, his absence serves as a reminder of the transient nature of the sport.

Nevertheless, Cleary remains confident in his team's depth, pointing to the talents of Lindsay Smith and Liam Henry who have stepped up admirably this season.

In a twist of fate, Fisher-Harris's injury may prove to be a blessing in disguise, allowing him to rest and recover before the high-stakes finals series.

"He's dealing with a groin injury, so he won't be taking the field this week, but we're optimistic about his return in the near future," Cleary stated.

"It's a setback, but we'll monitor his progress closely over the coming weeks."

As the Panthers prepare to face the Knights without one of their key players, Cleary's frustration with the inconsistencies in the league lingers, reflecting the competitive and often unpredictable nature of Rugby League.
