Teaupa's Future in Super League Uncertain

Gold Coast Titans pathways player Dion Teaupa is drawing interest from Super League clubs as he aims to revive his career.

The 24-year-old made his NRL debut with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, playing four matches in 2024.

Prior to his debut, Teaupa represented Tonga twice in 2023 during a tour involving a three-game series against England, participating as a substitute in both games.

Currently with the Ipswich Jets, the Titans' feeder team, he is being considered for a move to the Northern Hemisphere, with reports from Love Rugby League indicating interest in his services.

Teaupa played a crucial role in the Rabbitohs' triumph in the 2023 NSW Cup and was recognized as part of the State Championship team while playing in the halves.

During pre-season, he trained with the Titans but has not yet been promoted to the NRL squad in 2026.

Both the Bradford Bulls and Catalans Dragons are reportedly looking to strengthen their halves positions, making them potential destinations for Teaupa.

Injuries have plagued Teaupa, as a shoulder surgery and an ankle issue have limited his appearances, resulting in only four games with the Jets this season.

His journey to the NRL was marked by a dramatic incident in his youth when he was involved in a car accident that left him in a coma with a fractured skull.
