The Wests Tigers have officially announced the permanent appointment of Shaun Mielekamp as their new CEO.
Mielekamp stepped into the role at the conclusion of 2025, succeeding Shane Richardson after his resignation.
During his eight-month interim period, Mielekamp demonstrated his capabilities and garnered unanimous endorsement from the Wests Tigers board to lead the club moving forward.
He joined the Concord-based organization in 2024, initially serving as the general manager of community, foundation, and affiliates, where he spearheaded various initiatives.
Before his current position, Mielekamp had an extensive nine-year tenure as CEO at the Central Coast Mariners in the A-League.
Replacing Richardson-a figure known as one of the premier administrators in the sports realm-was no small task, especially for a club eager for rejuvenation. However, the board's confidence reflects a belief in Mielekamp's ability to guide the club towards a brighter future.
Barry O'Farrell, the chairman of the club, has expressed that the selection of Mielekamp is well-earned.
"Shaun has done a wonderful job since joining us in 2024 and on behalf of the Board, I'd like to congratulate him on this appointment - it's thoroughly deserved," O'Farrell remarked in an official statement.
"Throughout this year, Shaun has proven just how valuable he is to this Club, bringing everyone together around a shared vision for the Wests Tigers."
