The South Sydney Rabbitohs are set to extend the contract of forward Sean Keppie for an additional two seasons.
Originally, Keppie's current deal was slated to expire at the end of this season, but reports by the Daily Telegraph indicate that he will choose to stay with the club after three seasons in the team's cardinal and myrtle colors.
At 28 years old, Keppie recently faced a setback after breaking his thumb against his old team, Manly, and underwent surgery that sidelined him for an estimated eight to ten weeks.
Recent information suggests that he experienced a delay in his recovery, which could add another month to his return timeline.
Prior to his injury, Keppie enjoyed a solid season with the Rabbitohs, participating in 11 matches and averaging 76 run metres per game while alternating between starting and interchange roles.
The Parramatta junior made his mark in the NRL debuting for Manly in 2019, where he quickly established himself as a key player in the Sea Eagles' lineup, totaling 79 matches in their maroon and white kit.
He transitioned to the Rabbitohs before the 2024 season and faced off against his former team in the inaugural Las Vegas fixture during Round 1 of that year.
Over the last three seasons, he has represented South Sydney 53 times and has received a contract extension from Wayne Bennett until the close of 2028.
Keppie's contributions include significant size and aggression, complemented by deft footwork and the knack for offloading in tight situations.
