Rugby League legend Greg Alexander is not pulling any punches when it comes to his predictions for the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL finals.
According to a report on zerotackle.com, Alexander believes that the Cowboys will be a non-factor in the finals if they manage to secure a spot.
Despite lofty expectations earlier in the season, the Cowboys have been inconsistent at best.
With a string of home games, many thought they could crack the top four.
However, back-to-back losses to the Manly Sea Eagles and the Brisbane Broncos have put a damper on their playoff hopes.
While the Cowboys are still in contention for a spot in the finals, Alexander doesn't have much faith in their ability to make a splash in the knockout rounds.
Speaking on SEN Radio, Alexander criticized the Cowboys for squandering an 18-6 lead and labeled them as unpredictable.
"The Cowboys have been hot and cold all season.
They have the potential to score points, but their performance against the Broncos was a letdown," Alexander said.
As the race to the finals heats up, it seems like the Cowboys will have to work extra hard to prove Alexander wrong and avoid being labeled as underachievers in the playoffs.
