Cronulla Sharks forward Toby Rudolf has chosen to turn down a lucrative three-year contract from the Catalans Dragons in the Super League to continue his journey in the Shire.
Initially, it seemed that Rudolf was contemplating a move to the Northern Hemisphere; however, recent reports from NewsCorp indicate that he will instead sign a 12-month extension with the Sharks.
On Tuesday, it was announced that the Dragons had made an official offer to Rudolf.
Following this, the Sharks were permitted to present their own contract proposal, and Rudolf has happily agreed to stay with the Sydney-based club.
Despite facing injury challenges throughout the season, Rudolf has maintained a strong presence for the Sharks, demonstrating his commitment to securing a contract.
It's widely known that the Sharks are going through significant changes leading up to 2027.
Several key players, including Cameron McInnes, Siosifa Talakai, Jesse Ramien, and Sione Katoa, are set to leave the club at the end of the season.
Rudolf's impressive performance in the forward pack has earned him a renewed contract, allowing him to enter his eighth season in the iconic black, white, and blue colors.
Since making his debut in 2020, Rudolf has already played 132 matches for the Sharks and continues to contribute solid minutes to the team's front row rotation this year.
