The NRL's match review committee has issued charges to three emerging players, alongside a forward from the St George Illawarra Dragons who was penalized after Sunday's match.
Unfortunately for Clinton Gutherson, the Dragons could not secure a victory in his milestone 250th game, suffering a 38-18 defeat to the Gold Coast Titans in Kogarah.
This match pitted the 17th-placed Dragons against the 16th-placed Titans, making it critical in the race to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon for 2026.
Now, the Wollongong-based team is facing the prospect of claiming their first wooden spoon since the club was established in 1999.
Interchange forward Josh Kerr has been charged with grade 1 dangerous contact, and he is facing a $1000 fine if he opts to enter an early guilty plea for his actions against rookie halfback Zane Harrison.
Should Kerr contest the charge and be unsuccessful before the panel, the penalty will escalate to $1500.
On the flip side, emerging hooker Oliver Pascoe has also been reported for a careless high tackle on Dragons winger Tyrell Sloan during the 61st minute.
Like Kerr, Pascoe faces a $1000 fine for his first offense under the MRC, which would rise to $1500 if he decides to contest the charge.
Additionally, talented prop Toby Couchman was penalized after making contact high with Titans outside back Dean Ieremia, and due to this being his second offense, he has been fined $1800.
