Local junior moves into NRL Top 30

In a thrilling turn of events, local talent Luke Laulilii has officially joined the coveted NRL Top 30 roster for the remainder of the season, as reported by the folks over at weststigers.com.au.

The 18-year-old outside back, who started out on a training contract, recently showcased his skills in his NRL debut against the Raiders during Round 16.

Luke, along with his 19-year-old brother Kit, have both signed on the dotted line for Top 30 contracts in the upcoming years of 2025 and 2026.

Hailing from the Liverpool Catholic Club juniors, these brothers have been honing their craft in the club's elite development program for quite some time now.

Notably, they were instrumental members of Wests Magpies' triumphant Harold Matthews Cup team back in 2022.

Luke's milestone first grade appearance came just a week after celebrating his 18th birthday, making him the 10th player this season to make a noteworthy NRL debut with the Wests Tigers.

Coach Benji Marshall expressed his delight at witnessing the progression of local juniors through the ranks, a sentiment that truly encapsulates the essence of growing talent within the rugby league community.
