The MRC has concluded Round 23 by issuing one suspension and four fines following the matches on Sunday.
Addin Fonua-Blake, a prop for the Cronulla Sharks, faces a one-game suspension after being charged with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle on St George Illawarra Dragons' forward, Hamish Stewart.
Fonua-Blake received a sin bin penalty in the last 15 minutes of the Sharks' match against the Dragons, which enabled St George Illawarra's Setu Tu to score a late try, securing a 24-16 victory for his team.
If Fonua-Blake chooses to contest the charge at the judiciary and is found guilty, his suspension could extend to two matches.
As a result, Cronulla will be without Fonua-Blake as they aim to maintain their position in the league's top four against the Canberra Raiders next week.
In addition to this, four fines were issued following the 2pm clash between Canberra and Newcastle.
Dane Gagai, the centre for the Knights, was charged with a Grade 1 Dangerous Throw on Raiders prop Corey Horsburgh, resulting in a $1,000 fine. This amount could escalate by an additional $1,500 if he contests the charge and is found guilty.
Horsburgh also faced charges later in the contest, receiving a Grade 1 Contrary Conduct charge for striking Gagai.
After being sin binned for the incident and considering this is his second offence of the season, the Raiders prop will incur a fine of $1,800, which could rise by another $700 if he is found guilty at the judiciary.
