The North Queensland Cowboys have announced a new two-year Affiliate Club agreement with the Mackay Cutters.

According to cowboys.com.au, this partnership will see half of the Cowboys NRL squad being allocated to the Cutters.

Any players who are not selected for the Cowboys' main squad will have the opportunity to play for the Cutters in the Queensland Cup.

In addition to player allocation, the Cutters will also enjoy several other benefits as part of this agreement.

The Cowboys will provide increased financial support to the Cutters, which will undoubtedly help with their operations and development.

Furthermore, the Cowboys will host four Cutters players for pre-season training blocks.

This arrangement will allow the Cutters players to gain valuable experience and exposure to professional training methods.

The Cutters' coaching staff, led by Head Coach Michael Comerford, will also have the opportunity to visit the Hutchinson Builders Centre and shadow Todd Payten and his coaching staff during the pre-season.

This will provide them with valuable insights and opportunities for development.

Finally, as a gesture of support, the Cutters will have the chance to play one home game at Queensland Country Bank Stadium before a Cowboys NRL game.

This will not only provide the Cutters with a larger audience but also strengthen the bond between the two clubs.

Overall, this new Affiliate Club agreement between the North Queensland Cowboys and the Mackay Cutters represents an exciting opportunity for player development and collaboration between the two rugby league teams.
