The Brisbane Broncos have announced that Aublix Tawha sustained a fractured eye socket while competing for the Souths Logan Magpies on April 11.
He underwent surgery last night and is expected to take around four weeks to recover.
Tawha's return to the field will depend on his recovery progress over the next few weeks.
