Daly Cherry-Evans, the seasoned halfback of the Sydney Roosters, is poised to advance his rugby league journey, albeit with a different team.
Previously, there was a strong belief that Cherry-Evans would conclude his career at Bondi Junction after transitioning from the Manly Sea Eagles by the end of 2025, with the main uncertainty being his retirement timing.
His Roosters contract contains an option for 2027, and although reports suggested he had accepted it, recent statements from both him and coach Trent Robinson hint at an unresolved decision.
"Mate, I've honestly been taking it week by week," Cherry-Evans mentioned in an interview with ABC Radio last week.
"There's a lot of people in the media trying to predict my future and when I figure it out, I'll let everyone know.
"And I'll let my friends and family know first of all!"
According to a report by News Corp, Cherry-Evans is actively negotiating with Hull FC regarding concluding his career in the English Super League.
At 37 years old and having played 372 NRL games, he likely requires just one more season in Australia to reach the 400-game milestone, though it seems he may not don the Roosters jersey again.
The former Manly Sea Eagle has hit remarkable form lately as the Roosters aim for finals contention, currently occupying a prominent position on the NRL ladder, but they face a crowded situation in the halves.
