Sharks' Trindall Faces Shoulder Rehabilitation

The Cronulla Sharks have provided an important update regarding their star five-eighth Braydon Trindall, who underwent scans on Sunday due to a shoulder injury sustained during the match against the Canberra Raiders.

The scans confirmed a shoulder dislocation that occurred in just the fifth minute of the game. This happened when Trindall executed a self-kick, crashing the ball down in the in-goal area and subsequently injuring himself.

Trindall was promptly removed from the game as he experienced discomfort; however, Sharks medical staff were able to reposition his shoulder easily, suggesting there was minimal structural damage and avoiding the need for surgery, at least for the time being.

The Sharks have announced plans to collaborate with Trindall in his rehabilitation efforts, aiming to get their playmaker back on the field before the season concludes.

Much like Tigers' Taylan May, Trindall may be able to rehabilitate his dislocated shoulder and delay surgery until the off-season, allowing him to continue contributing to his team.

The Sharks are hopeful to replicate May's success, wishing for Trindall to return in time for their finals campaign, or when his skills are most urgently needed in the knockout stages.

However, with each dislocation, the risk of re-injury increases; May experienced three dislocations during the season before ultimately requiring surgery.

Niwhai Puru appears to be the most viable option to step in for Trindall in the halves, having played halfback on three occasions this season since making his NRL debut against the Manly Sea Eagles in Round 13.

Additionally, KL Iro successfully returned from concussion protocols during the recent game against the Raiders, while the fan-favorite prop Toby Rudolf made his comeback to NSW Cup with the Newtown Jets following a prolonged absence due to an MCL injury.
