The Sydney Roosters' centre, Tommy Talau, has dispelled rumors regarding a transfer to the Super League, specifically to join Daly Cherry-Evans at Hull FC.
Hull FC is actively seeking to enhance their outside backs in preparation for the 2027 season and is reportedly in the market for two new centres.
With the recent acquisition of Cherry-Evans on a one-year contract, speculation intensified about Talau potentially following his teammate to the UK.
Nevertheless, those connections have been firmly denied. Sources informed Love Rugby League that the 26-year-old is not contemplating a move to the Super League at this time.
Additionally, Hull FC has publicly stated that there have been no discussions with Talau regarding a transfer.
Talau joined the Roosters prior to the 2026 season after his exit from Manly, and he has participated in three NRL matches so far, playing on the wing. With his contract expiring at the end of the season, his future remains unclear, even as the speculation surrounding a Super League transfer is put to rest.
Although Talau will not be transitioning to Hull, the Super League team appears to be on the brink of securing another Australian centre.
Reports suggest that Wynnum-Manly Seagulls centre Jordan Swann is nearing a deal with Hull FC, having emerged as one of their primary targets.
Swann made his debut in the Queensland Cup this year and has made a significant impact, scoring eight tries in 11 appearances during his inaugural season.
