The Sydney Roosters have officially revealed that experienced player Daly Cherry-Evans will depart the club at the conclusion of the current season.
Cherry-Evans is set to join Hull FC in the English Super League, marking the end of his remarkable NRL career.
After spending 15 seasons with the Manly Sea Eagles, Cherry-Evans made the transition to Bondi, where he solidified his status as one of the league's elite playmakers.
He has the distinction of being the most-capped player for the Sea Eagles in history, although his time at the Northern Beaches ended due to a contractual misunderstanding.
Having debuted in the NRL in 2011, he achieved premiership glory in his inaugural season, becoming a vital member of the Sea Eagles and later representing Queensland and Australia.
With 373 NRL games to his name, he now ranks second in all-time appearances, just behind Cameron Smith, and is poised to narrowly miss reaching the 400-game milestone.
The 37-year-old will bring his considerable skills to the Northern Hemisphere, where he aims to contribute significantly to Hull FC as he wraps up his playing career.
"I've been incredibly fortunate to have had the career I've had so far in the NRL, and I feel like the end of this season will be the right time for me to close that chapter," Cherry-Evans stated in a Roosters announcement.
"Manly will always hold a special place for me and my family. I spent more than 15 years there, made lifelong friendships and was fortunate to experience so much throughout my time at the club. I'll always be grateful to the people at Manly and the supporters for the role they've played in my career."
