The Wests Tigers have been defeated 20-4 by the Knights in a hard-fought NSW Women's Premiership battle at the Newcastle Centre of Excellence on Saturday afternoon.
Darcy Eade, the teenage winger who has been on a try-scoring tear since making the move from Illawarra, got the ball rolling with the opening try after 22 minutes.
Her effort gave the Wests Tigers a 4-0 lead going into halftime.
However, the second half saw a tide of blue and red come crashing down on the Wests Tigers, with Elizabeth Montgomery and Jessica Gentle combining for a try and conversion to put the Knights ahead 6-4.
Evah McEwen and Tamika Bull then added to the Knights' tally with tries of their own, before rugby union convert Grace Kukutai sealed the deal with the final try of the afternoon.
The full-time scoreline in Newcastle stood at 20-4 in favor of the Knights.
It was a tough day at the office for the Wests Tigers, but they will regroup and come back stronger for the next challenge.
As they say in the world of rugby league, it's all about bouncing back from adversity and showing what you're made of on the field.
