Injury Concerns Cloud Knights' Victory

Two enforcers will likely miss upcoming games after the Newcastle Knights' narrow victory over the Dolphins on Sunday.

While the Knights celebrated a hard-fought 13 to 12 win, coach Justin Holbrook couldn't shake off his worries for Jacob Saifiti.

Saifiti exited the field limping within the first 15 minutes, and Holbrook later addressed his suspected hamstring injury in the post-match chat.

"I don't think it's really good, to be honest. He thinks it's pretty bad, so he will obviously get scans on it," Holbrook remarked.

"But it won't be a short-term one, I don't think."

The injury struck shortly after the Knights had to adjust their lineup, with Trey Mooney sidelined due to a minor calf strain suffered during the week.

Mooney is projected to be out for as long as six weeks, adding pressure to Newcastle's already strained forward depth.

Despite the setbacks, the Knights demonstrated resilience and skill, resulting in another impressive win.

The injuries paved the way for young Newcastle player Cody Hopwood, who excelled with 34 tackles and 81 running metres during his 41 minutes on the field.

Hooker Phoenix Crossland also delivered a solid performance with 48 tackles and crucially executed a 40/20 that shifted field position in the later stages of the match.

However, the standout moment belonged to marquee signing Dylan Brown.
