Able to represent three tier-one nations-Australia, England, and New Zealand-young star Ethan Strange has shared insights on his international allegiance and future ambitions.

This season, Strange significantly enhanced his performance, playing a pivotal role in helping the Canberra Raiders secure the Minor Premiership, contributing 14 tries and 12 try assists. His impressive play has earned him a place in the 2025 RLPA Players' Dream Team.

As a potential contender for the Dally M Five-Eighth of the Year, the 21-year-old is recognized as one of the top young playmakers in rugby league, alongside Isaiya Katoa.

Like Dolphins halfback Katoa, Strange has the opportunity to represent multiple nations at the international level. In an interview with The Canberra Times, he confirmed his eligibility to play for England and New Zealand, but expressed his intention to represent the New South Wales Blues and Australia.

This decision comes on the heels of Kangaroos coach Kevin Walters, who recently stated that Strange is in contention for the 22-man squad set to face England in the 2025 Ashes Series.

"Mum was born and raised in England, and grandma was born and raised in New Zealand, so all my family members want me to play for different teams," Strange explained in his conversation with The Canberra Times.
