Broncos Coach Holds Secrets Amid Disastrous Season

Why Madge’s ‘ridiculous’ claim doesn’t sit right... as shock Broncos roster claims emerge

Head coach of the Broncos, Michael Maguire, acknowledged the issues plaguing the team during a troubling 2026 season, particularly after a staggering 40-6 defeat to the Warriors.

However, he stated he would "keep that between us," raising further speculation about the team's turmoil.

In light of this, Brent Read from The Australian has pointed out Maguire's apparent inability to "fix" the problems, especially as the Broncos find themselves facing the possibility of earning the wooden spoon.

From being the champions of last season, the Broncos have drastically fallen to 16th place, marking their 15th loss in a dismal Round 24 of the year.

Read asserts that the root of their struggles can be traced back to ongoing discontent within the squad, a sentiment that has circulated throughout Maguire's time in charge.

"I don't think he does know what it is, otherwise he would have fixed it. I don't think he can fix it, not while the season is going on," Read remarked on NRL360 on Monday evening.

He further emphasized the significance of the upcoming off-season: "I've said it before this is a huge off-season... he's got to fix some relationships. They aren't playing like a happy team are they? They haven't played like a happy team since the premiership."
