Captain Crichton stands tall as Bulldogs down Raiders

In a game that had more twists and turns than a rollercoaster ride, the Bulldogs came out firing in the second half with Crichton once again leading from the front.

His deft pass put Joseph Suaalii over in the corner to give the home side a 10-6 lead.

The Raiders weren't going down without a fight though, and they hit back through a try to Bailey Simonsson after a clever kick from Fogarty leveled the scores once again at 10-10.

But the Bulldogs weren't finished yet.

A barnstorming run from Toby Sexton saw him crash over next to the posts, with Burton adding the extras to give the Bulldogs a 16-10 lead with 20 minutes to go.

The Raiders weren't going to lie down though, and a try to Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad brought them right back into the contest at 16-14 with just 10 minutes remaining.

But it was Crichton who would have the final say, stepping up to slot a crucial penalty goal with just minutes left on the clock to extend the Bulldogs' lead to 18-14.

A late try to Jordan Rapana gave the Raiders hope, but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs held on for a hard-fought 22-18 win.

In a post-match interview, Crichton had nothing but praise for his teammates, saying they showed real guts and determination to come away with the victory.

The Bulldogs now turn their attention to a mouth-watering clash with the Dragons next week, where they will look to continue their winning ways and stamp their authority on the competition.

As the Bulldogs faithful celebrated the win, it was clear that Captain Crichton had once again stood tall and led his team to victory with a performance that will go down in Bulldogs folklore.
