Rabbitohs coach hops away from Latrell questioning

Rabbitohs coach’s blunt reply after Latrell question

The new Rabbitohs coach, Ben Hornby, was as blunt as a front row forward when asked a sticky question about Latrell Mitchell following his team's loss to Penrith.

Hornby made it crystal clear that he had never even entertained the idea of moving Mitchell from his spot at fullback, despite the injury to Jye Gray during Souths' 42-12 defeat to the Panthers.

Gray ended the match hobbling around in a moonboot after sustaining a syndesmosis injury, while halfback Dean Hawkins also limped off with a quad issue, leaving the team with a few selection headaches.

"Absolutely not," Hornby shot back when pressed on whether he had considered shifting Mitchell to the centres before Gray's injury.

Captain Cameron Murray, on the other hand, is pumped for Mitchell's comeback and just wants him to do his thing on the field.

"He's been tearing it up in training, prepping us well, and carving it up," Murray said.

As they say in Aussie sport, the only place to catch all the action live is on Fox League with no interruptions during play.
