Dolphins Edge Dragons 28-22 in Close Match

Dragons fall short vs. Dolphins

The St George Illawarra Dragons put up a strong fight, but ultimately fell to the Dolphins 28-22 at WIN Stadium.

Connelly Lemuelu opened the scoring early, sending a flick pass to Kodi Nikorima, who assisted Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow for the first try, making it 6-0.

The Dragons answered back when Setu Tu scored, thanks to a well-executed play with Clint Gutherson providing the final pass.

Shortly afterward, Selwyn Cobbo had a try overturned as video officials determined he touched the touch in-goal line before scoring.

The Dragons took the lead midway through the first half with Tyrell Sloan finishing a stylish move, while Valentine Holmes converted to make it 10-6.

Jack Bostock's timely offload allowed Cobbo to score for the Dolphins, leveling the game once again.

However, Toby Couchman had to exit for a HIA, bringing Jacob Halangahu onto the field.

Just before halftime, the Dolphins regained their lead with Ray Stone scoring from a break by Kurt Donoghoe.
