Craig Bellamy, the esteemed coach of the Melbourne Storm, has outlined a timeline for when he might step away from coaching.
This announcement follows comments from Cameron Munster, who declared he would stay with the Storm as long as Bellamy remains in charge, alluding to ongoing speculation about the talented five-eighth's future.
In a surprising move, Bellamy permitted Munster to talk with the PNG Chiefs, who will join the league in 2028.
Reports indicate that Munster was expected to arrive in Papua New Guinea alongside new teammate Zac Lomax.
However, the Queensland Maroons captain chose to prioritize his recovery from a knee injury and focus on the Storm's campaign, especially since they face the potential of missing the Top 8 for the first time since 2010.
With both players' futures at the club uncertain and Bellamy's recent diagnosis of a neurodegenerative disorder, he has shared his thoughts on when he believes he will retire.
"The next year or two is when I'll be finishing up, so he'll (Munster) end up older than me if I stop counting my age," he noted.
"I'd love to go through my entire coaching career with him ending at the same time, but he's got a decision to make."
"He'll make the right decision for what's right for his family, and he's got the right to do that," Bellamy added.
