Raiders extend female Pathway Program

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

The Canberra Raiders have announced their commitment to the growth of women's rugby league in the local region by introducing a new under 17's female pathway program.

This program will provide young female rugby league players in the area with the opportunity to be selected into an elite level program, which could potentially lead to a career in the NRLW.

The Raiders have already conducted regional skills clinics across the Riverina, South Coast, and Canberra earlier this year to assess the talent pool in the local communities.

Based on the success of these clinics, the club has decided to introduce this new program as a stepping stone into their established under 19's Tarsha Gale Cup program.

The program will kick off after the trials in November and will include weekly training sessions, followed by a series of trial matches against Sydney clubs.

Interested participants can sign up online now, and the Raiders will hold trials for the new under 17s squad on Friday, November 10.
