Doueihi Conveys Feelings on Jarome Luai's Exit from the Tigers

Adam Doueihi, the Wests Tigers halfback, has addressed Jarome Luai's imminent exit from the club amidst struggles to secure a spot in the Top 8 as the season winds down.

Luai is set to join the Parramatta Eels on a one-year contract before making the significant move to Port Moresby to launch the PNG Chiefs franchise in 2028.

The shocking announcement regarding Luai's departure has occurred alongside the team's decline in performance, leading them away from finals hopes.

The Samoan international had signed with the Chiefs in April and was originally expected to be with the Tigers until the end of the 2027 season.

However, the club chose to focus on developing their future halfbacks, fearing they might lose these talents to competitors if Luai remained for an additional year.

As a result, it was agreed upon that the 2026 season would mark Luai's final year in the orange and black.

Initially, the Tigers were comfortably seated in the top four at Round 9, but they have since dropped down the rankings, suffering losses in six of their last seven matches.

Doueihi acknowledged that the situation hasn't painted a favorable picture during recent weeks and shared insights from discussions within the Tigers camp.

On Tuesday night, Doueihi narrowly avoided suspension for a high tackle on Bulldogs' player Harry Hayes at the judiciary.
