Tom Weaver faced a baptism of fire in his first fortnight of NRL, but the young gun quickly proved he was ready for first grade.

The Titans' website, titans.com.au, is reporting on his impressive debut in an article titled "Rookie watch: Cleary's confidence in Weaver." Wearing the Titans' No.

7 jersey in the final three games of 2023, Weaver didn't waste any time making an impact.

In his first game, he set up the opening try with a brilliant short ball to Klese Haas, showing off his skills against three-time premiership winner Nathan Cleary.

Weaver's performance even caught the attention of Cleary, who believes the talented rookie has a bright future in the game.

However, Weaver's challenges didn't end there.

He had to face top-quality halves like Jahrome Hughes and Matt Burton in his subsequent games.

Despite the tough opposition, Weaver's outstanding performance has made him a serious contender for a spot in the team's starting lineup in Round 1.

He finished the most recent Titans season with an impressive display, leaving coach Des Hasler with a difficult decision to make.
