St George Illawarra Dragons' outside back Tyrell Sloan is set for a spell on the sidelines following a hamstring injury sustained during the club's Round 18 win against the Wests Tigers.
Sloan kicked off the scoring in the first half but experienced hamstring tightness around the 30-minute mark.
His condition forced Dean Young to make adjustments to the lineup.
On Wednesday, the Dragons provided an injury update, confirming that Sloan will remain sidelined until Round 21.
This injury is particularly significant as Sloan has recently signed a two-year deal with the Castleford Tigers in the Super League, effective from the 2027 season.
He will be teaming up with his Dragons teammate Damien Cook, who is also set to join Castleford, reuniting with Ryan Carr, who was previously an assistant coach before taking the helm as Castleford's head coach.
At 24, Sloan has made 89 appearances for the Red V since his debut in 2021 and solidified his role in the team's lineup during 2023.
This season, he has shifted from being the first-choice fullback to playing as an outside back and has seen limited action, appearing in just 10 games in 2026.
The Dragons are facing a bye in the upcoming round as they aim to close the season positively while also determining their coaching direction for 2027 and beyond.
