Mitchell Barnett Unbeaten in First Three Origins

Barnett makes it three from three on Origin stage

Mitchell Barnett, co-captain of the New Zealand Warriors, remains undefeated in his first three State of Origin games for New South Wales.

The 32-year-old contributed to the Blues' thrilling 22-20 victory over Queensland in the opening match of this year's series.

His first win came during his Origin debut in 2024, where New South Wales secured a title-clinching 14-4 victory at Suncorp Stadium.

In that game, he played 48 minutes off the bench, achieving 73 tackles from 11 runs, with 30 tackles successful.

Last year's Origin 1 saw Barnett starting, helping New South Wales claim an 18-6 victory against the Maroons, where he made 110 metres from 12 runs and 26 tackles with minimal misses.

Unfortunately, he suffered an ACL injury shortly after that match while playing for the Warriors against South Sydney.

His absence contributed to New South Wales losing the last two matches in the series.

In Wednesday's opener, he started again alongside former Warriors teammate Addin Fonua-Blake, playing 40 minutes with 82 metres from 10 runs and 25 tackles.
