Andrew Webster is poised to become the longest-serving coach for the Warriors after signing a significant extension that will keep him with the team until 2032.
As the Warriors aim for their first top-two finish in 24 years, club officials announced on Thursday that Webster has received a four-year extension in New Zealand.
This contract makes him the only coach in the NRL confirmed through the 2032 season, extending his time at the club to an impressive 10 years.
Webster currently boasts the highest win percentage of any Warriors coach and, by the end of this season, only Ivan Cleary will have led the club to more finals series.
"It's humbling to be able to secure my future here for this long," Webster remarked.
"I'm super proud every game I get to be a head coach in the NRL. It's a dream, and to do it with this club and these players is extra special."
"I love this club, I have the greatest belief in what we can achieve, and I'm excited knowing I'm going to be here until 2032. I'm so grateful to have this opportunity."
During Webster's four seasons at the helm, the club's roster has undergone significant change, with only five players from 2022 still on the team.
"From the moment he started with us, Andrew showed what a tremendous fit he was for the club," said Warriors CEO Cameron George.
"Since then he has gone on to become one of the best head coaches in the NRL right now."
"He has galvanized us, setting a sustainable culture throughout the entire club. What he has also done is turn good players into better players and to bring through some of the most exciting young players this club has ever seen."
With South Sydney, Newcastle, and Manly left on their schedule, the Warriors will likely need to win all three to overtake Penrith for second place.
They face a challenging match against the Rabbitohs on Saturday, missing their first-choice fullback and bringing in inexperienced Luke Hanson at No.6.
The Warriors are optimistic about having Te Maire Martin (calf) back in the lineup by season's end, as well as Luke Metcalf (hamstring) and Tanah Boyd (knee).
Fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad will return from suspension for the final round against Manly, with Taine Tuaupiki having filled in for him this season.
On the other hand, South Sydney plans to keep Latrell Mitchell out for another week instead of having him return against the Warriors.
Mitchell has been sidelined since round 10 due to nerve damage but was named in the No.22 jersey for Souths this week.
He is anticipated to play against the Titans next Saturday, allowing him a two-week lead-in to the finals.
