Cameron Munster is a coveted figure in rugby league, particularly by rugby union, and this fact has become increasingly evident.
The Maroons captain shared with CODE Sports that he has received inquiries from rugby, both domestically and internationally. His manager, Braith Anasta, indicated that preliminary interest was expressed as early as October when a third-party contact associated with Australian rugby pitched the idea of Munster donning the Wallabies' gold.
While no formal offer was presented, the meeting happened, the intent was unmistakable, and the door remains slightly open.
This situation is particularly timely since Munster's contract expires at the conclusion of the 2027 season, rendering him a free agent beginning November 1.
Despite this potential shift, there is one element he consistently reflects upon: the Maroons jersey.
"I love Origin, and I love Queensland. Being Queensland captain is something you never want to give up," Munster stated.
He added, "You get offers and opportunities that might interest you at different stages of life, but right now I'm very happy playing NRL and representing Queensland."
Moreover, he noted, "Any player who has played Origin will tell you that you never want to give up your jersey."
He concluded, "When your time is up, your time is up, but I still feel like mine is here."
