Brisbane Broncos star Patrick Carrigan is in discussions about re-signing with the club to secure his future in Brisbane.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Carrigan's management has initiated conversations regarding a pay rise for his extension, even though he is contracted for another two-and-a-half years.
At 28, if an agreement is reached, it is possible he could spend his entire career representing the Broncos.
He is set to return from suspension this weekend as the team regains key players following a month filled with injuries.
Reece Walsh will also be back for the match against the Sydney Roosters on Saturday, enhancing the team's strength after managing to achieve back-to-back wins despite the challenges.
The last month has seen injuries sidelining multiple players, including Walsh, Payne Haas, Corey Jensen, Ben Hunt, Brendan Piakura, and Aublix Tawha.
With Haas moving to South Sydney at the end of the season, Carrigan is likely to receive a well-deserved salary increase, as the club will have more funds available in their salary cap.
As Carrigan's contract extends until the end of 2028, Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy has expressed that retaining him is a key focus for the club.
"Pat is a really important part of the club," Donaghy stated to the Daily Telegraph.
