Raiders topple the Titans in the Gold Coast

The Canberra Raiders beat the Gold Coast Titans 28-12, securing a seventh straight victory over them.

Injuries meant fringe players like Chevy Stewart earned first-grade opportunities.

The Titans returned from a bye with AJ Brimson and Chris Randall back in the side.

Early Titans errors gave Canberra good field position and led to the opening try.

Ethan Sanders combined with Simi Sasagi, who sliced through to score, and Sanders converted.

Matthew Timoko's line break and a Kaeo Weekes offload created Sasagi's second try, also converted.

Weekes later finished a break himself, but the conversion was missed, leaving Canberra 16-0 ahead.

Gold Coast responded when Phillip Sami scored in the corner and Jayden Campbell kicked the goal.

Canberra led 16-6 at halftime after the Titans repelled a late raid.

Early in the second half Sanders appeared to score but the play was ruled out for obstruction.

Canberra ultimately held on to win 28-12 and extend their dominance over the Titans.
