Connor Watson has recently become a focal point in NRL contract discussions, but the versatile Sydney Roosters player is keen to resolve the situation swiftly and simply.
His trip to Port Moresby to inspect the PNG Chiefs' facilities sparked speculation about a potential shift to the league's newest team.
In an interview with ABC Sport, the 29-year-old articulated his thoughts clearly.
"I would like to get it wrapped up and then be able to concentrate on playing good footy for the Roosters," he stated.
Watson's journey to Papua New Guinea attracted attention, especially as the Chiefs prepare for the 2028 season.
This season, the Roosters informed Watson that he could engage in talks with other teams, as they do not intend to renew his contract when it expires next year.
As Watson is not expected to remain with the Roosters beyond 2027, if he opts to sign with the Chiefs, he will need to secure an NRL contract for the coming season.
In recent weeks, he has been associated with potential moves to the St George Illawarra Dragons and Wests Tigers.
Reflecting on his visit, Watson shared that he was impressed, noting he "only saw the really good things."
